Colin Jarvis

With a Television career both with the BBC and commercial/independent sector, Colin Jarvis offers wide ranging experience of the international and UK exploitation business.

Colin has been responsible for some of the biggest international format titles such as Weakest Link and Dancing With The Stars and deficit financing of major TV titles around the world.

He has excellent contacts at all levels in the UK and international television industry.

Colin Jarvis Media has been formed by Colin to provide hands on and pragmatic assistance to producers, programme devisors and TV distribution companies

Colin began his career at the BBC in 1970, working in a number of departments including  Solicitors and Copyright, Commercial Rights and European Sales, before joining the independent distributor, Primetime as Associate Sales Director in 1986.  He subsequently moved to the newly formed LWT International, as European Sales Manager, before returning to BBC Worldwide in 1993 to head up the newly created Format Licensing Department and growing the annual turnover from £1m to over £70m. He was responsible for the huge international success of BBC formats such as Dancing With The Stars,  Weakest Link, Top Gear and The Office  He managed a development, production and sales team in London and production bases in Australia, India, France, Russia  Argentina and  worked  with the North American bases in Los Angeles, New York and Toronto.
